Description
Captured 4/4/15 @ 7:55 am, in my city, about a mile from home, with the front of the Superior Courts building entrance to the right. The City Hall is further down the line, also at the right of the image.
This is quite typical of an early Saturday morning in the area; very quiet, virtually bereft of people and vehicles. which helps contribute to the pristine ambiance. Albeit quite a different story during the work week, with tons of traffic and noise. The street goes on forever in either direction, sometimes changing names, even within the same city. All in all, quite a departure from anahata.c's Chicago, with its change of seasons, its Lake Michigan, the towering skyscrapers, along with the huge trees and opulent, venerable brick and stone mansions bordering the sidewalks.

Not much traffic at all, that's for sure; and it's quintessential California in spring, wide streets, green and clean...it will look a lot less green in August! Lovely capture, Harry!

splendid quiet shot !!! the way for Infinity !!!
Harry, since my last comments, the site has gone through morning and early afternoon maintenance (it said so everytime I logged on), and that's when I've been free to comment. (I see my sister at night, etc.) So I'm behind once again. But since I CAN get on now, I wanted to comment on this, since you were kind enough to mention me and my city in your description. LA is such an amazing place to me, because it seems to go on forever, because the streets seem so wide and relaxed, because it seems so flat (when it's in fact nestled into mountains and such), and because it just seems so much more open than where I live. This shot struck me right away (when you posted it) for the beautiful low blue tones, the blue grays, the quiet relaxed feel of the shadows, the long patches of green lawn, the typically low skyline, and the relaxed lined-up trees. Also, it looks like it either rained a little overnight, or perhaps the watered areas were from sprinklers. (That is, if LA's even allowed to use sprinklers, now.) Whatever it is, the wetter pavement makes a sweet contrast to the dry. And overall, it's a restful, infinite looking street, going, as you say, forever. Great that you got this on a Sunday morning, which---in all big cities---is a fine time to get the streets without a ton of people on them. And it feels so different from what you describe, so well, of my environs. Even when no one is outside, my neighborhood feels intense and hovering...Another beautiful street-mood shot from you, from your city---which you continue to chronicle for us in all its moods and details. And, to me, it belongs with your OTHER pavement shots, incl the closeups, because they're all with similar subject-material, only from different pov's. (And incidentally, the cracked pavement shot you just posted---this is fri eve, in chicago---was terrific! I'll get to it next session.) I have to go now, unfortunately, but thanks for the mention here; and your shot is wonderful.
