Description
I have had a fascination with cemeteries, especially old ones, since I was a boy. The stones tell stories. A person’s life is bookended by two dates. Sometimes the story is tragically short. A child is born, grows to almost manhood and is called to war. The End.
Sometimes, however, the story remains unfinished. Mary Evans was laid to rest in the Panguitch Cemetery in 1893 but what happened to John?

That looks an expensive bit of carving. Maybe there was no one who could afford, or was prepared to pay for the work. Sad.
I'm going to be cut up for anatomy lessons, so there will be no funeral and hopefully no tombstone. A flowering tree maybe.
Maybe John still walks the Earth??
LOL... Fantastic captures my friend !
There's indeed something about cemeteries ... thank you for these images!
Maybe he left town when she died and never came back again! Is really sad, cause I think she is still waiting for him!
That was one of the possibilities I had considered. He could have also gone off to fight in our civil war or gone for a ride and never came back. In those days there were still Indian attacks.
Wonderful and thought-provoking capture
I'm dying to know what happened to him Mark! There are lots of good shots to be had in cemeteries.
