Description
remember that pink panther movie when the inspector asked if his dog bites. had that running though my noggin when i made this. i appreciate the comments and visit my friends. have a super weekend.. TGIF!
Happy Valentine's day Tomorrow everybody.
so i get my new 4 i gigs of ram cards, install them and tried rendering a image that crashed with the 2 gigs i had, same thing crash out on render. so i check sytem info on the ram says on i have 3.29. so i call my friend Rick over, we took all cards out and put in one by one and rebooted computer on each card and port for them/ all checked out good when cards were single showing i should have 4 gigs, but when all cards are in i get the 3.29. he says my system for some reason is not reconizing all 4 gigs. ??? CRAP! go figure..
i had mega trouble rendering this. i ended up rendering it at 1100 x 628 or so. about the lowest resolution image i have done in 5 yrs. i saved it as a png and pasted onto the larger bg for the size it is now. thanks again lol Steve

Lovely lighting on this one and just too cute!!!
This is exceptional work Steve.
It's a very beautiful composition and idea. Excellent work! Happy Valentine!
WOW!!! This is AWESOME!!! Love the skin tone and little blue guy!!!
Great render ! As for the RAM, if your motherboard has on board video, then it probably doesn't have dedicated video ram. In a nutshell, the 640 megs that are missing might be getting allocated to the video. Does it say 3.29 in system information, or does it say 3.29 in the bios ? If it shows up in bios, then chances are the on board video (if applicable) is stealing it.
Great image with cute characters. Sounds like you are running a 32 bit version of Windows, so unfortunately it won't be able to use all 4 GB of RAM. If you right click on My Computer and look around in properties it should say somewhere in there. Your best bet to avoid crashes is probably decreasing bucket size and/or lowering the number of threads in Edit -> General Preferences -> Render if it's currently higher than 1.
The shading is beautiful - I like the color - great scene!!!
Huakiami is right. With a 32 bit system Windows will only recognize something like 3029 Mb and so you are probably maxed out right now. Decreasing bucket size and number of threads will mean all your available memory will be focused on one small part of the render and so will be less likely to run out of memory at any given moment. As I said before your renders are way bigger than you need to post here, reducing to 1500 pixels on large edge should reduce the amount of memory you need. Render at 72 dpi. Also in render menu, set minimum shading rate to 0.1 or higher, like 0,5. This will free up memory. Very cute render. I am empathetic with your frustration... you finally are able to get a better system and it still doesn't work right. That just makes you want to cry.
Very cute picture. Great work.
cool
Adorable Valentine, superb image, Steve! Happy Valentine's Day to you too!
Looks realy very nice - I wish you and yours a Happy Valentine!
Adorable and cute image with the two little characters and her nice attitude, sweet colors, wonderful image for Valentine, Steve !
Very Lovely !!!!!!
Wonderful Valentines scene and actors Steve. Windows will unfortunately always eat some of the 4GB - especially if you happen to run the 32-bit version, as huakiami suspects.
charmante
Soo sweet and charming this is,wonderful work,my friend*********
LOL... It's a fantastic scene!!! Marvelous creation and composition... Your work is absolutely fabulous my friend !!!!
Beautiful render! Like the blue shading :) I'm running Win XP 32 myself. Seems max is 2G. as all stated.,.I also have problems rendering some scenes..
love the play with scale in this :)
Despite all your mishaps you have created a wonderful image Steve +5 from doarte's MADHOUSE
Beautiful character and cute little guy, love their poses!
Well done.
1-is the BIOS recognising the 4 gigs??. the operating system (i bet you have windows 32-bit)will only recognise a bit more than 3 gigs anyway no matter how much ram you put in. the 64-bit operating systems recognise up to 32 gigs or more.(i think i wrote this already once do you ever read bro??lol)
Very nice scene Steve with beautiful colors !
nice image. Is your system 32 bits Windows ? If yes : you can't address more then 4 Gb. (2 power 32 is 4 294 967 296) But system needs ram for other things and then you are limited to +/- 3.3 Gb, sometimes less.
Superb piece, Steve! Have a fab weekend!
Beautiful scene, even with lower resolution as you said. Have an excellent day!
A great image.. over here we have a name for computers.. it's the other name for a girl dog work it out
Beautiful scene! The background is really cool. Happy Valentines Day!
