Description
Roots with sharp claws, captured 12/15/14, early morning, on my way home from the 99+ cent store.
This may or may not be a Ficus tree.
BTW, no comments or uploads have arrived in my inbox over the last two days, so I am in the very slow process of using other means to read the incoming ebots. It's hit or miss now, baby, until this thing straightens itself out.
Have a nice day.

NOW! Those are roots!!! Cool capture.
Wow Harry, those really are some massive roots.
beautiful claws, You would hardly dare to walk around it.
exceptional show with these trees : you have a very precise eyes !!!
Those are some pretty creepy looking roots. Don't let your dog get too close while going for a walk. Keep you children back! Wonderful catch!
It does look like it's reaching out from the grave! Looks a bit like it's starting to lift the pavement too. As far as tree ID, I have no idea, but wow, what a cool find and excellent shots!
You know, I see exposed roots all the time here, but I've never gotten a good shot of them. One, we don't have them like you do, because we're not a warm climate. But it's also because I just can't "feel" them with a camera. Like flowers. So I leave them to you...These are more of your big crawling root shots, they feel fun and almost riotous to me! And they're made by a few elements: The grass-bare soil, the 1-direction crawl of the roots, the bare lawn across the sidewalk (contrast), and that heavy red curb: It makes a perfect accent for the scene. It's a giddy scene, and a lot of fun; and your angle makes the root seem like a lava spill. More fine work in this series, and kudos for bothering to stop, compose and shoot them, and then postwork them. It's not a subject many would stop for.
WOW! It seems the tree is not satisfied by the place it stands, so it is going to move on :-) Love this photo :D You got a really amazing gallery here. I should come back when I am less hung up. :)
