Description
Scotland has decided, and the UK remains intact, to the delight of the majority.
Devolution will surely follow for all four countries, and I am reminded of a marvellous quote from the anthropologist Kate Fox, whose book 'Watching the English', is one of the cleverest and funny books I have ever read.
She says
" A truly English protest march would see us all chanting,
'What do we want? GRADUAL CHANGE! When do we want it? IN DUE COURSE!'"

very slowly indeed; cool shot
Thanks for the laugh. A perfect image for 'gradual change'. Congratulations (?) on the vote (maybe, perhaps). At least you'll be able to buy shortbread without paying import duties.
LOL! I shared this with Bill, and we both got a good laugh out of the quote. He's been following the Scottish vote business over the past week or so, and keeping me posted. Love the picture that goes with it! :)
Yep all done & dusted, or is it???
Great shot Andrea :)
Someone needs flying lessons... ;p Excellent capture of this very slow and slimy creature!
Indeed a very apt shot for the subject.... devolution for all. Great capture...such natural colours.
and over here in the US we have states that want to secede from the collective states (Union) Great depiction of the attitude of those who are intelligent about change
An amazing beast! We used to have massive slugs like that in the garden - we called them cows. Alluding to going slowly and the British political system is very clever. I just love that quote you dug out. Nothing could be truer!!!
Superb capture Andrea. God bless.
Yep I go with that quote.
Wonderful that the UK stays as one and I like quote. Also a great looking slug!
