Description
I got an ID from Roger Morris, our national expert on Hoverflies.
I have a good set of this obliging insect from several angles, which I may inflict on you.
Worth seeing fullsize if you like insects.

Wonderful capture Andrea
Beautiful macro shot...that is a gorgeous flower the hoverfly picked!
Beautiful, you have good healthy anemones.
Perfect capture
I love the detail in the center of the bloom, those little hexagons (I think) like tiles...superb capture!
You'd think I would get used to it, but I'm absolutely gobsmacked at the detail and clarity on the macro function of your camera. Superb!
You are great at these little bug a lug shots!
WOW, fantastic!!!
A fantastic close up. There is a certain charm here. The little creature seems mesmerized by the bounty spread before it.
Wonderful detail in this shot with such great colours too.
Very nice shot Andrea!
Lovely flower and shot. Love the colours.
A fantastic capture and zoom Andrea, beautiful stamens and hoverfly details!
