Back in the day...........long before iphone 5's and ipads......these were the cool gadgets on the block. I'm going to show my age, but I spent many years chained to one of these! 128K of RAM! Now THAT'S POWER!!
The Microbee above it, well I studied Pascal, Cobol and Fortran on it. And it didn't even have a colour screen! It had an amber monitor, where everything was orange and burnt the user's retinas out!
And do you remember BASIC! Ah the memories!
Sorry about the reflections in these shots. Even though I always go to great lengths to avoid bounce-back with my external flashes, these items at the science museum are all stored in rows of glass cabinets. The reflections reflect off the reflections of the reflections behind you and then reflect.............you get the idea!!!

Great capture! I remember using one in my tech science class in College. BASIC was nice but I loved Pascal as it programmed the way I thought!!!!
And even a CP does not help here. I used to use one of these too Pascal fortran and basic. Nowadays we don't need the screen savers, back then they were necessary to protect the screen from burn in, now they are a novelty to admire. Great shooting mate.
Oh, an old Apple Mac...This brings back the era of OMNI magazine and an idea that The Future was going to be something other than what it is now. At one time, this was sleek and streamlined, oh so futuristic and efficient and at some point (later) everyone was going to have one. Now...we're elsewhere. I'm writing this comment on a laptop that was inconceivable back then, not that laptops were, but that skinny computers were. WOW! What a blast from the past. It makes me wanna break out a bunch of old Pat Bennetar, Cyndi Lauper, Boy Goorge, Eurythmics, and Chaka Khan records...and of course Prince! What's the 80s, and those futuristic computers without a "Little Red Corvette"? (Funny how music from a short span of years actually defines an entire decade! This is great! Thanks for the nostalgia-blast!

I have a Mac Plus and an SE - both of 1987 vintage - and they still are in working order ( as are all the ones that came after them... ). Funny to see them in a museum. Reminds of the movie “Back to the future", when Marty McFly sees one in an an antiques store and thinks it is the latest model :0) Nice pic, mate! Peter
My first was a 512k Mac, and it allowed me to begin my writing and publishing career. Many books later I have recently shut down my publishing company which operated for over 25 years. Now I have another company still filling orders, printing and shipping books to an ever-decreasing market. I sold educational books and students now want everything on-line and they want everything free. I won't convert my books to e-books because there are cracks available for every e-book platform. Instead, I expect to destroy my complete collection of all my writing to prevent some do-gooder from making all my work available free. There is lots of free stuff out there, and most of it is useless. Perhaps when people realize that Internet doesn't have all the answers, some might begin to write quality works again. Right now there is no point as free-lance technical writers will slowly starve. Great shot that brought back memories Andrew! I still miss being able to play a couple of games, Airborne, and Crystal Quest (which was very stressful after you got to level 28 or so).
Ahhh. Reflecting on the good ol' days. The Mac was a bit up-scale for me... I spent my time slumming around on the Apple IIe.

My first was an Apple IIe, two 5 1/2 inch floppy drives, NO HARD DRIVE and virtually no memory. I saved a memory chip out of one of there. It looked like an insect!
