My deepest condolences for your loss, my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this painful time.
Having lost my own father last year, I know well the pain and sorrow your are experiencing.
I do believe someday, we will once again walk in fields of gold with those who have gone before.
I'm not sure why the song by Sting popped into my head - it just seemed to fit.
May peace and healing find its way to you, my friend.

Rod, thanks for this moving and thoughtful dedication. You have no idea how much this touched me, and I am sorry for the loss of your Father also. I totally agree with your thoughts and know that for the first time in a long time my Dad is pain free and walking the streets of gold in Heaven. I can almost see him with his Dad, whom he lost when he was a small boy and never really got to know.
