Description
The light caught my eye.
Zoom helps.
Field Horsetail (Equisetum) discovered while walking just after sunup through a wooded area of Dauphin Island (barrier island) at the entrance to Mobile Bay, Alabama.
Lots of this weed grows around our lot here in Washington...pull it when it pops up and it is gone for the season but next year it is back again...its' root system is huge and practically speaking impossible to kill.

The question of the constant gardener, when do you call a weed - a 'weed' ? when it can look as attractive and serene as these ones do ... there is something very special in the early morning hours, when the dew drops make them look so magical, I love the light and shade play here, you have a good eye for natures beauty and composition. BB
Such a beautiful scene, with those little drops sparkling...horsetails are interesting in all stages of growth, but they are awfully vigorous!
Hard to kill eh? Rumour has it Arne Saknussemm got tangled up in the root system :) Great use of the light Bill
Wonderful and magical capture Bill
Absolutely gorgeous! The light is stunning. You have an excellent eye and superior skills. (And a nice camera!) :P
Brilliant photo! It is a nightmare if it gets into a garden, whatever Brigitte says!
I too think this is a stunning picture, perfect. xxx
I like the shot Bill. As Andrea says it can become a nightmare, hence 'horsetail'!!
I like the reflection off the dew on the plants. Nice shot Bill.
Another beautiful one, Bill. In zoom the tendrils just glisten with all that dew. And the light from behind filters through like magic. A closeup but it's got depth. And somehow it's what I would associate with that part of the world, because of its mystical glow and overgrown feeling. And the heavier stalks glow too---the thicker brown ones, like bread sticks: They glow around the edges. There are also red swaths here, blurred and like paint smears. And a lot of shadow that everything filters through. The whole piece filters through shadows. Beautiful closeup of light and how it plays on the plant world. I love this shot. (Tara said "You have an excellent eye and superior skills. And a nice camera!" I'd do anything to hear her say, "you're practically blind, your skills suck, and I've seen better cameras by Brownie!" Now THAT would be a comment...) Stupid jokes aside, this is beautiful, Bill; about light, and how it transforms everything...
Exquisite light and shadow! Beautiful image, Bill!
The Horsetail is especially beautiful with all of those dew drops all over it!
Real nice capture.
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
I can certainly see why this light caught you eye, Bill! How beautiful and delicate - and the dew is the icing on this lovely visual cake!
Oh yes, the light is simply gorgeous!! This is beautiful!!
