Excellent Andrea, I have never seen these, are they a member of the shield bug group?
Indeed yes!
Beautiful capture.
Amazing capture
Excellent shot, and fascinating bugs.
Great shot.
Now, I have seen these but apparently not here in the USA since they are listed as found in Europe, Asia and Northern Africa. So, that narrows it down to my experience with them probably being either in Germany or Vietnam. Strange little critters:)
Guess there'll likely be the pitter-patter of many little feet before too long!
After viewing this spectacular image, A, I am beyond envious of the fact that you have 90% of the world's varied species of insects represented in your neck of the woods.
very good micro
I can almost hear the strains of "Sweet mystery of life at last I've found you". Amazing macro work but I suppose they were busy and didn't notice you.
I have never seen them before.
You really should make some illustrated books about flowers and bugs. Really you are so good at capturing those things...oh yes and shoes and perfumes and dogs and people and...........
Caught in the act - and a wonderful zoom Andrea!
