This seems like such a classic scene of Louisiana, it's beautiful!!
that houseboat looks like it is leaning Great capture
A lovely tree shot and a beautiful sky to set it off.
Fascinating ! There is something tied around the tree that is intriguing too.
Fabulous shot. Aloha
Very interesting. Living in a swamp area like that has always sounded just a little scary to me.
A very interesting tree and surroundings....Be careful of the alligators....
What a lovely tree, great in zoom. X
Would make one hell of a difficult jigsaw :) Excellent work Bill.
My! Are those still standing after hurricane Katrina? Wonderful! Thanks for the info! It's funny how a 24 mm. lens can put the lean on everything. Could you get so close so you could touch the moss? I've always wondered what it feels like. This must look like a ghost sailing vessel in the dark of night. Keep up the good work. :-)
Superb capture my friend. God bless.
fabulous shot
AMAZING WORK
I love that Spanish moss, how lovely this scene is!
WOW! it looks almost dead. Very fascinating tree and a great shot.
what an eye catcher, stunning specimen
What a sight ! - I am speechless, well almost ... I have only read about this in books and I have got a pretty vivid imagination, I wonder how this would look at night time ? probably really spooky - I am fascinated ! thanks for sharing such a memorable experience - which it must have been for you guys as well ... BB
As Mike says, it looks like the houseboat is leaning---well maybe that's just nature taking its course, the wood giving way, the structure moving with age...A rich capture of a central drooping tree (drooping from the moss) and all the bare trees around it, fronted by that deep brown river---silt I assume---and that wonderful tilted old houseboat (with an air conditioner---love that detail!!). It all seems to be leaning towards the central tree---which, itself, is like someone who was caught in a ticker tape parade and hadn't bothered to clean off yet. (Or like it crawled out of the swamp and hadn't bothered to clean off.) You and Tara have seen magical mystical sights in this part of the country; and both of you have captured its feel in your images. (I was there years ago, and never got its images out of my mind. I was also in N.Orleans, and remember---even now---the magic of that city...none other like it on earth.) The brown water grounds the image really well, it's so earthy and deep in appearance...
This is a wonderful shot. Kathy told me they looked at this one and rediscovered the beauty of their surroundings. Nice, huh? :)
Stellar capture, Bill! I like the whole composition and subject matter, especially the cypress tree, typical of the Louisiana Cajun swamps.
That Spanish moss always gives scenes like this such a mysterious look - you captured a beauty here, Bill!
Being a movie buff, I've seen this so many times.. Nice to see it for real lol A great shot Bill, thanks for showing, a fine shot mate! Rob
been a long time since I was in the area. brings back all the memories of beautiful landscapes there
