That looks like a beautifully made candy with drops of sugar syrup rather than water. Are the fungi actually that color? This is a beautiful photo.

Wow---it looks like a big creamy pastry, which doubles (nights) as a lizard-y beast, who's so hungry it's lips are dripping. What a big opulent bold creepy and beautiful thing that is! A great capture, and so vivid---I love it! (Do you see the lizard-head? The eyes, the big lips?) You know the old joke about the mushroom who tries to get a drink at a bar? The bartender says "we don't serve mushrooms," and the mushroom says "I'm not a mushroom, I'm a fun guy!" (fungi?) Ok, it's stupid, I admit, and verrrry old, but this is a fungus who looks like he's having a helluva good time. Wonderful capture, Claude. Love it. Power in a little tree fungus...
If you close your eyes a bit the drops seem to jiggle in the breeze. I have not seen such a blue bracket fungus before. Quite striking against the green background.
These fruiting bodies of fungi are commonly called "conks" and are the fibrous but sometimes fleshy fruiting body of a wood-rotting fungus that has a definite form and structure. On a standing living tree their presence may indicate that the tree is sickly and in danger of succumbing. Conks are also seen on down dead trees. I've long been fascinated by these conks and have photographed them many times. Your pic is an excellent one. Thanks!
