More rural rust. Does this kind of sign deter thieves? I don't really know, but I kind of doubt it. I've been playing with Perfect Effects 8 filters a lot lately & this is the first time I've used their tilt-shift filter (which simulates the effect you get when using a tilt-shift lens) - it just seemed right for this image, though I don't think it's typically used in this way...

LOL I do not even know what a tilt-shift filter is supposed to do. This is the first time I have heard of it. Sometimes I wonder what I am doing here trying to post my simple little pictures with all you pros. :) This shot looks great by the way.

That looks like quite an antique! Love the weathering and rust. The filter seems quite nicely used here!
I love the result you got with the filter. The sign fairly pops off the screen! The rust is wonderful (what's not to love about good rust?), and the words 'Oregon Farmer' give me a mental image that has nothing to do with rusty signs. Marvelous!

From my tiny experience with tilt shift lenses (a friend's camera, not mine), it changes/corrects perspective lines, straightens them out, shifts or tilts them as the photographer chooses---all of which you probably know a lot better than I. (The lens itself is something to look at too! As I recall, it's a big 'bulb' of a lens, and looks like a lens that got pregnant.) I would've never thought of tilt-shift for a closeup like this, but what you really got was a pulling-forward of the sign, and a softening (unfocussing?) of the top and bottom. It projects the sign further into view, which makes it more present. The sign is clear and vivid; and the light's striking, letting the warning stand out above all. And your harmonizing surrounding---something you do in other decay shots---it turns the tree/stone into something electric, intense. Well, the warning's clear, to be sure; but so is the light and texture---probably something the sign posters didn't have in mind, but which make this an eye-popping shot.
I like the sign, photo and postwork but I do not think it deters!
