Description
It was Liung and Connor's turn to pick the movie for their weekly Movie Night. Being Manly Macho Men, they chose a blood and guts horror movie. After being "shushed" several time for giggling during the "good" parts, Kelli and Monja went to the kitchen and came up with a plan so evil you can only pull it on your best friends. Sneaking back into the Living Room, Monja knelt beside the couch with her camera phone and Kelli crept up behind the boys waiting for the scariest part of the movie. She intended to grab them as she yelled and let Monja capture it on video for posterity. Knowing there would be a shower of popcorn all over the Living Room, they had the vacuum waiting in the hall. Like I said, a plan you can only pull on your bestest buddies. Girls are really evil, just ask boys!
The composition of the scene fell in place rather quickly, then it took all day to get the lighting to even come close to emulating a television screen. After render gazillion-and-one, I said enough and quit.

Excelent work again!! Wishing you a Happy New Year from the Dutch coast ;)
Wonderful render and comp and don.t forget some of the very best horror films were in black and white!
LOL...a real devilish plan! Very NICE! Happy New Year
I'd love to see that video - I'll bet it would be hilarious! This is great, Terri! I should try that sometime with my wife. On second thought, maybe not.... I'd be sleeping with the dog - and we don't even have a dog... :-P Try putting a spotlight right in front of the TV, and pointing it at the guys on the couch. A little trick I use a lot is to place a simple Poser primitive - usually a lo-res ball - in the scene where you want the light to point. Select the spotlight, and use 'point at' in the object menu to point the light at the ball. You can maneuver the ball right where you want the light to point, then make the ball invisible by selecting it, and un-checking the ball's visibility in the properties tab. Then you can play with the light's intensity, distance end, angle, and so on.
fantastic picture! Happy New Year 2014!
Nice work... ------------- Wish you a happy new year...

That is what friends are for! LOL! Excellent image! Very well done! Bravo!
Funny Scene and nice shadows!
LOL....to funny. A very fun render. Well done.
Very nice family scene!
Fantastically creative idea. Great composition!
Nothing like a warm, cozy scene with the family coming together to watch a DVD or TV program (despite it being a horror movie). One wonders how many families still do that anymore nowadays... (Sigh...) Thought the yellowish lighting added a wonderful sense of warmth. I know how frustrating it can be trying to get exactly what you have in mind when rendering a 3D image. I myself often worked on my renders over and over again. And yes, I know girls are evil. That's why I'm still single up to this day! Happy new year!
Hummm........ That look like they are completely absorb by the film and girls have so bad moments... Grrrr Bad boys.....((5++))
LOL! Fun idea! :) :) :)
Super atmosphere in this beautiful image....but I hope they're not eating while watching TV !!! No ! don't call me a weightwatcher !!!
