Description
The Latin word in-sect-um was modeled on the Greek word ἔντομον, en-tom-on, "cut", ie into three parts: head, thorax and abdomen. We spoke once of insectologie - and he even existed in the late nineteenth century, the famous Bulletin insectologie farm - but now is used to designate the study or science of insects, the term entomology.
