Very interesting POV great carvings

This looks more like an ancient Mesopotamian or Babylonian temple than the place where Davy Crockett & Jim Bowie made their famous last stand. I've never been there & have never seen a photo of it quite like this. I probably would have been unable to resist adding some blue color & contrast to the sky (& possibly might have ruined it), but this definitely has your subtle & distinctive style written all over it...

Ya know, you could have said this pic was taken somewhere among the antiquities of Greece and I would have believed you. In any event, a wonderful capture of the storied bastion, probably having been renovated since the big battle.

A very lovely and unique shot of this famous edifice, Tara! It's not easy to get a shot of a landmark like this that hasn't been seen a million times, but you did it with style, my friend! I know I took some photos of it when I was stationed in San Antonio, but I'll be danged if I can locate any. Oh, well.... Gives me a good reason to go back..

Monumental, Tara, it's just amazing. I have never seen a shot of the alamo like this, never! It's not only your monumental angle, but the quality of your light, the subtle softness (which makes it feel like it's whispering to as much as shouting), the flattening of the facade through perspective---it crunches up all the pillars and details so we can see them in one glance. They look so exotic! Like something from the ancient world...I'd just never looked at the Alamo intimately before; and now I'm staring like it were a new discovery. It's beautiful. And you have those dark accents (amidst the ambers and sepias); and the tiles in front appear to be floating...A monumental yet intimate shot, and a real beauty. Bravo!

Absolutely marvelous! This sent me looking through old shots, and I do believe that you have erased some signs of the present (like guard ropes and adjacent buildings). I would never know it from looking at your wonderful image though. This is what people think of when they think of the Alamo. A mission building in the wilds of Texas, where history and legends were created. "In the southern part of Texas, in the town of San Antone, There's a fortress all in ruin that the weeds have overgrown. You may look in vain for crosses and you'll never see a one, But sometime between the setting and the rising of the sun, You can hear a ghostly bugle as the men go marching by; You can hear them as they answer to that roll call in the sky: Colonel Travis, Davy Crockett and a hundred eighty more; Captain Dickenson, Jim Bowie, present and accounted for." We used to sing this song all the time when I was a kid. Of course, I got some words wrong and had Santa Ana white washing the wall. "Santa Anna bleached the wall." This picture is perfect for the legend of the Alamo. It has the feel of the romance and larger than life deeds that gave power to the cry 'Remember the Alamo'. Beautiful capture! One of the best I've seen of San Antonio's iconic landmark.
