Description
Needs a full size view to see all the flaring. Not technically the best shot I know.
Making the best of adversity. I broke and lost my butterfly lens hood a few weeks ago. At the Festival of Lights I was constantly struggling with flare because there were often strong lights in unexpected spots. But you have to make the best of the bad and work with what the Gods put in your path. Here I think I was given a bit of a gift.
This is actually a slowly spinning disco ball, lit up by four blazing laser beams, and cunningly suspended by an incredibly thin wire that created the illusion of it floating in space.

Beautiful capture! looks another world, Roxy-sensei!
That is certainly other-worldly! Nice work!
It seems an irreal word!!
Marvelous shot and very great POV. Fantastically well done !
Amazing photo and idea behind it
This really is a beyond cool capture Roxie, and it sounds like you went to a lot of trouble for it.
sure is a cool capture, Roxy. Merry Christmas..
Exquisite image,
Does make a great attention getter. Great shot
Cool looking portal!
Wonderful and trippy capture and here I thought you'd gotten back into rendering and this was going to be a new episode of Ishtar
excellent
What - you didn't step through it to see what parallel universe was on the other side? :-D Indeed, this is a most delightful capture, Roxy! Sometimes just saying "the hell with it, I'm shooting anyway despite the challenging lighting" can result in stunning images. This one is proof! I'm with Mike RE Ishtar.... (hint)
Hah! Very cool. It does, indeed, remind me of a what a wormhole opening might look like.
Very nice work. Aloha
Stunning my friend ---> Merry Christmas....Hugs
It definitely does create a sense of dimensional portal... awesome!
Still such a great image .... He looks like a giant crystal ... and yes, there is snow made of crystals. The crystal ball for 2014? The unwanted spots do not interfere. They give the image MAGIC ....
Nice effect and the lighting on the snow is great!
