I've always loved hearing parents tell their children that, and then five minutes later the waitress/waiter brings a plate and the parents don't have the courtesy to even bother saying thank you.
He looks sinister. Maybe that's what's bothering you. I abhor seeing little kids in danger. It brings out all the protective instincts.
