I would have liked to get a couple too but since they are protected I had no idea if it would cause any harm, so there was no point in it for me. An interesting shot and I had already forgotten how well they protect themselves...from us!

Seems like a rather prickly fellow but you managed to capture his most prominent features very well. Excellent close up. A view not usually seen.

We all know this type of cactus from the movies but this view shows the real thing up close and personal. Nice job hon!
