Description
.....guarding a huge lot of trash, captured 12/3/13, early in the AM, somewhere within the vast perimeter of my neighborhood.
Quite small in comparison, but the closest I could get to Andrea's rusty chains.
Toodles.

Those chains certainly look like they've seen better days :) good shot
Great photo as always, Harry. Looks like it might be time to find a new chain.

Nice capture!
splendid metallic close-up...an excellent code here !!!
Nothing that a squirt of freeing oil won't solve. Most interesting compo.
It will last a long time... Nice shot. Aloha
looking cool
Sorry I've gotten so behind, Harry; this is a stunning composition, and what a great find, especially in the context of the surroundings! That blue fabric really makes the rust jump out, wonderful shot!
Odd thing to lock up nice shot
Excelent !!!
wasn't it Bette Davis who said "What a DUMP" in some film? (WIth that Bette Davis contempt that no one could match?) That's perfect for this place. A gloriously messy riot of form and color, another of your urban cacophony shots, this one composed by 2 or 3 verticals (the two posts and the one covered by that oh-so-awful blue mesh-stuff---gotta get a bunch of that for the living room!), and the triangle formed by the oh-so-ugly chain, all encasing a stretch of truly awful garbage. A jazzy glorious mess! A fine composition; and the padlock sticks its mouth into the front of the shot, with its teeth bared as if it's going "grrrrrrrr". I don't remember all of Andrea's chains, but aren't they bigger to begin with? I mean, this chain seems small by comparison, so part of the bigness of her (grand) chain shots is because the chains are bigger, right? But anyway, unless you do a macro and sacrifice all the junkyard 'dance' here, or use an ultra powerful zoom lens, I don't know how you could get this chain any closer or bigger. It's the big 'kumbaya' singer, keeping everyone holding-hands, and it's one ugly piece of work in all its glory. I love these images of yours: big, ugly and unkempt, with a screw-em-all, not-giving-a-damned air, yet still very well composed. Another terrific padlock shot. Love it.
