Description
We saw many lions while visiting the Kgalagadi last week. This lady was not impressed by the humans trying to take her photograph... She had 4 teenage cubs with her and there were also 3 other lionesses in the pride. They were all too lazy to even lift their heads.
The reason why I have also decided to post this is to show what a challenge it is to shoot wildlife in a reserve like this. It would be great if the animals could pose during the morning and afternoon golden hours but alas, they don't. I had to use manual focus here because of the many twigs between her and me.
Thanks for visiting and for your very welcome comments and favs on my last upload "Grazing on a Red Dune".

Nice shot Carin. She looks like she is half asleep.
And you really got a remarkable result. Superb shot, Carin :)
Very nice shot Carin.
Excellent capture!
Terrific result! My camera doesn't have manual focus.
What a great portrait!!
That is good camouflage although now I have see her I feel safer :) beautiful shot !!
such a wonderful image..love it
Great shot.
Fantstic capture !!!
Nicely done!!
Brave you are....nice capture. Aloha
You've risen to the challenge and succeeded. Fine result. Bet you feel good just getting this photo at all:)
You did well taking this picture Carin. God bless.
Yeah, it's nice to get every shot in afternoon light, but that isn't how life works. If I saw a lion in the mid-day sun, I'd take its picture too, and worry about the rest later! :P I'm pretty impressed. Nicely done, Dierbaar! :*
Wonderful capture Carin.
This is wonderful just to show how well she blends into the background!
I imagine it is a great challenge but you managed to get a really lovely shot.
She is keeping her eye on you, fabulous shot!!
Super a natural image indeed sweetie.
Nicely composed Carin. Hope you had a longish lens on for this! The only lion I ever see is on the start of a film!!! Mind you, I had a deer trot across the road in front of me two mornings ago. Lovely sight. By the time I'd turned the car around with my camera it had lost itself in the nearby foliage. I dearly wanted a shot, merely to prove that I'd seen it. Might even have made it to RR!!! rat.
A great capture and I can see where the manual focus was needed. She doesn't look all that happy but then again - she doesn't look hungry either!
Eyes on someone.... Good shot, well taken Rob
