stunning work Carol...I can feel his attitude
there are a lot more I want to comment on, but I'm finishing a dedi for you, and I figured that should come first as it's only 2 months late. (2 months and 3 days, as of today.) I chose this because I loved the extremely detailed line work you did here. It all moves in lots and lots of interacting eddies and flows. And the beak quietly rushes into the eye, which plunges its way into the feathers very dramatically. (This is the kind of thing I refer to, when I refer to the inner drama and spiritual energies of your work. It's just an eye, but it becomes an expression of natural onrushing powers.) You put red around the eye too, and it bleeds into the feathers---it's like the eye is lit-up (as eyes should be). Even the beak has flowing hues. And your background is undulating and alive... This is a small piece---even full size---and I'd die to see it wall size. But even in the RR-sanctioned size, it thrusts into our space like a genuine Power, fierce and beautiful; and your "crop"---forgive the photographic term---makes its presence all the more focussed and intense. A beautiful rendering, and filled with waves of energy and life. I'll be back for more soon...
Thanks so much for taking the time to see my work with your unique vision and so eloquently express yourself, Mark. As always, you inspire me to view my art in a whole new way.
