Description
The sun caught my eye along with the scenery.
Here we have a Joshua tree in amongst eroded rocks that eons ago were boiling volcanic magma deep beneath the earth's surface.
Location is Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California.

I've spent many a week enjoying the park.... love it.
I like the sun behind the tree Bill. Nice shot.
Superb capture Bill. God bless.
That's a great shot straight into the sun the foreground is perfectly exposed ! incredible shot Bravo
An excellent capture Bill and a very happy birthday to you.
I want to see lots more of those rocks! I hope you have had a great day, Bill!
5 * for compo and lighting
and congrats
Now I am singing the entire U2 album in my head LOL! What a cool into the light shot Bill and no lens flare, pretty rare in this scenario, even with a decent lens and hood/shade fitted. Kudos mate.
WOW! What a beautiful shot this is. Wonderful rocks and the tree is awesome with the sun shining behind it.
Very cool capture Bill I like this scene
Great shot. Love that area it has so much character.
marvellous picture
Oh, that is a great shot, Bill! I love this - outstanding composition, and sharp as a tack! Wow!
Great Bill. Did you use a polarizer ?
What a beautiful shot! Wow!
Great sun flare & great color & clarity. Only visited Joshua Tree once on our way to Arizona many years ago & very briefly. We had watched a documentary just before going that was about mysterious disappearances at Joshua Tree & when we got there it was deserted except for a black van with a couple of shady looking guys standing by it. The atmosphere was very creepy & we decided to cut our visit short & high tailed it our of there...
Everything that's Joshua Tree right here in one picture. Fabulous!
at the risk of repeating another comment---WOW!! this is stunning!!
You got a great sun star Bill, and an excellent compo!
I can only add that I also love this photo and agree with the comments above. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.
Beautiful composition! Love the light an how the tree seems to be catching the sun

Now this is why Joshua Tree is a national park. A real calendar shot, Bill.
A wonderful POV Bill to include the Joshua Tree, boiling sun and rock formation!
