Description
The fourteenth image from 'The Living Rainforest'. You can visit their website here:
The Living Rainforest Link.
These two birds are Roul-roul Partridges, also known as The Crested Partridge, Crested Wood Partridge, Red-crowned Wood Partridge, Green Wood Quail or Green Wood Partridge.
It is a gamebird in the pheasant family and is a resident breeder in lowland rainforests in south Burma, south Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo.
There are several of these roaming about the building and I caught this pair of male birds investigating a small piece of litter - presumably hoping that there was something tasty inside.
