The tenth image from 'The Living Rainforest'. You can visit their website here: The Living Rainforest Link. They have this rather excellent fish pool with a lowered walkway past a glass sided wall. I was quite pleased that this picture was usable as it was taken without flash, indoors, through glass and hand held of a moving target - several other attempts did not work so well. :-) The fish is a pacu, a common species of omnivorous South American freshwater fish that are related to the piranha. While piranha have pointed, razor-sharp teeth, pacu have squarer, straighter teeth, more like a human. Also, full-grown pacu are much larger than piranha, reaching up to 3 feet (0.9 m) and 55 pounds (25 kg) in the wild. ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph 13 Sep 2013
