Description
Hi Friends,
Your attention please for a dear friend,on which others always can count for any help. (blondeblurr)
Dear Brigitte, don't forget to take care of the little girl which is in your self.
Take your rest and allow yourself to enjoy this.
Especially for you, I photographed this old fashioned living room,
with on the wall this embroidered tapestry, with the German text on it.
: "Such' das Glück nicht weit.
Es liegt in der Häuslichkeit".
English translation:
"Don't look far away for your happiness,
it is at home in the domesticity".
BTW, It is so, that not far from here, a part of Limburg in the past was owned by Germany.
Hence, the dialect they speak here, is very much the same as the German language.
Thank you very much for your very kind words, as for your visit-look. :)

My best wishes and big hugs to Brigitte!
You did it again Jacominchen ;)) and you are absolutely right: 'Home is where the heart is' ... (roughly translated, LOL) This must be, what they call: 'Deutsche Gemuetlichkeit' - I discovered so many little details and I can smell the Coffee brewing, so where is the Applestrudel ? I haven't seen anything like this in a long, long time and it's starting to make me feel homesick, it won't be long now ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the dedi and everybodies good wishes, I am overwhelmed and it's time to get quickly better now. lots of hugs Gitti or BB
Just like a time capsule, so many kool things to see in this house/museum, a perfect dedication for Mum ! Thanks for thinking of her making her day ! ~Cheers~
What a lovely and very interesting dedi for Brigitte :-)
Wunderbar nostalgisch. Einige Gegenstände kenne ich noch von meiner Oma! Eine Reise in die Vergangenheit.....danke, Minchen
hehe, so sweet and what a perfect dedication for blondeblurr!
Nice dedication for Brigitte Jacomina.
Wonderful capture of a more simpler time!
Beautiful and intersting capture!
Wonderful image and dedication! This is lovely, so many interesting things to see! The embroidery with the lovely phrase, reminded me of Blackwork embroidery, except it isn't black. I went looking to see if there was a name for Blackwork embroidery that isn't black (it's sometimes called scarletwork) and found the following funny quote: "Blackwork is black, except when it’s not. Blackwork is reversible, except when it’s not. Blackwork is a counted thread technique, except when it’s not. Blackwork is called “blackwork,” except (you guessed it) when it’s not." (http://www.geocities.ws/karen_larsdatter/art1.htm) I like the lighting in your image. The bright yellow-green plants looking in the window and the cool blue tones inside. It makes me think of the blessed feeling of coolness and peace in a lot of old buildings. Hugs and best wishes to Brigitte!
so great dedi and photo my friend !! wonderful !
A fantastic dedication for everybody's friend - Brigitte!!! I like what it says on the embroidered tapestry and the collection white containers to the left of the cuckoo clock! A lovely photo!
Imagine the designs lived well into mid 20th cent.! I saw near-identical vessels, teapots, etc. from Poland to Denmark, even at homes... today homes.
