Description
A petunia from my garden (if you can call it that!) My "garden" this year consists of six containers next to the deck.
I finally got out with the 50mm lens a couple of days ago and got some flower pics! That's one of the main reasons I bought the lens, but we didn't run across a lot of flowers on our trip. I'm hoping to get out and do more with it, and do some fiddling with f-stop settings and whatnot. In the meantime, this is a starting point!

Watch the 2.8 setting when it doesn't cover the flower completely to get a sharper image. The background can always be adjusted with the sliders to darken the background and lighten the flower to get more contrast!

Nicely done, good clarity on the beautiful veining on the petunia; the 50 is a great and very fun lens. Don't just limit yourself to flowers, try it on everything and see what kind of results you get!
I love these little funnels in many colors. Like small gramophones! they play the melody of life! A wonderful capture with a light bokeh!
Excellent, you will find as honey says above that it has a good selection of subjects. When Dee came over last year, we went on a nifty 50 day out, nothing but one body and a 50mm lens. These are great for such things like door knobs and letter boxes etc. You may recall a wrought iron gate I shot with shadows? All that day we had fun going back to the roots of photography. And as I am sure you will know, being a prime lens, it's going to be very very sharp :)
