Description
Carter Shields Cabin in Cades Cove, Tennessee The Carter Shields Cabin is believed to have been built in the 1830s. George Washing "Carter" Shields, a veteran of the Civil War who was crippled in the Battle of Shiloh in April 1862, called the cabin his home from 1910-1921. The area provided a beautiful place to retire, as the Dogwood trees which bloom there in the spring make it one of the loveliest stops on the cove tour. The Carter Shields Cabin stands at the last homestead on the Cades Cove driving loop.

SUPERLATIVE WORK!
Excellent photograph. Great to meet you, I will hope enjoy more of your work.
A picture-perfect image ! almost like selective colouring - a sight to behold, Lynell BB For a moment there I thought, it was an Autumn scene, it's a fallacy to believe that - going by the multi-coloured leaves on those trees - never heard of a Dogwood tree, so I just googled some more images. Stunning!
A grand historical piece of history and a beautiful capture as well

Splendid scenery!
This is a well composed shot. The cabin is beautifully framed. There is a strong tie in of foreground and background with the orange leaves which draws draws you right through the picture and across the cabin itself. You also made fine use of the flat lighting from the somewhat overcast day.
Excellent!
Amazing and beautiful image !
