(With Apologies to the Late Great Douglas Adams)
Since my last post a few weeks ago featured snow falling (near the end of April, no less) It seems appropriate to follow April's "Showers" with May's Flowers.
I was leaving work, and as I unlocked the door to my car I realized, through the exhaustion of another long day, that the smell of all those flowers was actually more powerful than all of the car-fumes from the people who were also leaving work.
So naturally I looked up, and this was what greeted me. Staring up into this dizzying array of flowers that seems to go on forever I understood a bit more the idea of finding something so much beyond myself that I could truly sense just how small and temporary the beauty of our world can be.
So of course I grabbed the miniature digital camera I always carry with me in case I stumble across amazing things like this.

!!! I look at flowering trees a lot. Every year they catch my attention. And I have never SEEN this in quite this way before. Thank you for seeing it, and for thinking to capture the view, and for sharing it with us. I learned something new about flowering trees today!

This is absolutely amazing! I love it when trees flower, especially the sorts of trees that blossom despite the fact that n one ever sees it. This, on the other hand, is flagrantly floral and in all of the best ways. I've been moderately obsessed with poetic things lately, and this is--most definitely--a poetic image. This is stunning. Truly a wonder, and it's making a trip into my favorites!

Yeah, think we all have moments like that--and thank God that we do! I once stepped out into the night and with the help of a dim street lamp, I was instantly aware of every brick in the building across the street--all of them at the same time. Was a feeling very much like what you experienced here.
