Description
I liked the pitted surface of the iron. This was probably put in around 1915-ish at the original town of Maryhill, long since gone. (The town burned in the year I was born. I'm sure it was just a coincidence.) :P

Maybe the pitting is caused by the burning? I wonder if it still works if there's no town to have a fire for it to extinguish. This is really great. Pitting is beautiful. The light is fantastic too.

Another title "Endurance". It looks in fair shape for its age. Nicely seen, especially with the flowers in the background. I can't believe the town burned and everyone just shrugged their shoulders and walked away. Apparently "Oh well" is not a modern expression.

The juxtaposition of the old pitted iron hydrant against the wild greenery and the flowers really makes it stand out. It may be old, it may be pitted, but it looks like it has another couple of centuries left in it. Great capture!
