Description

*En pasi gar tois fusikois enesti ti Thaumaston.* (Whitin all things which are from Nature stays something marvellous.*) Aristotele ----------------------------------------------- This Summer holidays I read again the wonderful Herman Hesse's "Siddharta" and my mood got all poundering and light. On the third cover of the book there was this little kind of chinese black and white depiction of birds similar to these, and I decided to make my own version of them, makin a sketch and colouring it with my usual mixed technique. It's kind of a strange subject maybe , and they are actually not even Ibises but I didn't know how to call them :P. I just like the vibe, to watch them from my room walls make me quite softy ;). Have a nice weekend:)! More animals will come next week, talkin about birds.

Thanx to you all :) Next birds (but on Friday, before I am awol due to marriages till the subsequent Tuesday) will be an Eagle I painted at school when I was 11 or 12 -and that will be quite hilarious, lOL- and an Hawke which I made instead as painting this summer. It took me AGES to make it, and I still unsure about it, but as I said, I fell in love with birds this Summer.. ;)

I wonder how I missed this one... there's a striking sense of three-dimensional depth in this one, particularly the birds in relation to the trees behind. They have the optical illusion of standing out even more than you'd expect - it must be the differences of contrast, chiaroscuro perhaps. I definitely like this a lot, and think it could well be one of your best hugs :-)
