Description
We drove into Canyonlands National Park from the north and went for almost 15 miles along the top of a long, 6000 foot high mesa with amazing views in all directions. This is a view to the west from just one viewpoint.
That is the Green River way out there...some miles further south the Green River merges with the Colorado River and forms the Grand Canyon.
What a sight...
Please zoom...well worth your time:)

WOW.....Incredible image my friend, excellent capture!
A spectacular shot, Bill. I remember this view very well & you've captured it in a very unique & dramatic way...
Gosh! What a sight!
Spectacular Bill, I would love to be with you!
Wonderful shot Bill. Great detail, I see there is a frog on the left side of the left bend in the river!
Wow amazing Bill. It would be interesting to know how many hikers etc are in this photo (ie too small to see)......10, 50, 100, NONE?
Such a HUGE, wide landscape. Astonishing.
outherworldly
Spectacular vista!
Fabulous landscape !
Wow..Bill...awesome shot...
Fantastic view Bill
breath-taking panorama
Seen that shot both ways, from the river and from the rim! The quality of this shot is making me wish I had 6k right now to get that camera and an L series lens. I'm going to be feeling like it is a waste of time shooting with mine next time.
Terrific capture! That's such an amazing landscape. I think Wayne's been drinking again ... frog???
In a word WOW, what an amazing place. x
Fantastic capture.
Superb capture Bill. God bless.
I remember that stunning view :)
Excellent capture of the Canyonlands, including that 6000-foot high mesa -- 6000-ft? Amazing -- as the top serpentines its way into the distance, Bill. A zoom does provide spectacular details.
Such a fascinating landscape! Wow, what fun you two must be having! Fantastic capture!
What a landscape awesome...........that view must be amazing........... 10 stars too:) ********** Def a fav with me Hugs Susan`
Deliciously otherworldly...kinda like in that movie I rambled on about in Tara's gallery...Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone; it's one of those movies that so bad it's good. It features Molly Ringwald in her first film role and it was filmed not far from where you nabbed this shot. This shot looks better than that other director's vision of rocks and desolation and matte-painted ruins. I really love the mist rolling in faintly; it reads as both fog or simply...stampeded dust? Really fantastic and deliciously moody. Kinda makes a guy wanna go and listen to some Aaron Copeland composition. Nice!
Blisteringly good shot Bill... What more need be said! Outstanding!!!! Rob
gorgeous vista!
