Description

(ZOOM image or you will miss details) Two Friends Missed Time, and time away Ever has it been Never time enough to play Or even visit friends? Sullied by the winds of time Provoked and often bent Passions played out so fine Left an old soul nearly spent Mayhap return, to begin anew? Can drained rivers flow once more? Can passions fly where once they flew- Yet encourage peace instead of... war? Cast about with jaundiced eye Seeking the old reliable friends But "Art" and "Words" did fly Leaving him quite alone... again And now an old man dwells "Where to go from here" To quench his many private hells, To brighten horizons quite austere And so he takes steps ever so small Slow and tentative as a child Quite determined once and for all To stay and rest... for awhile... - - - - - - - - - - - - - Yes, its been a long time. Much too much has happened to relate here - and I guess I'd rather just go forward than dwell on things (mostly) outside my control. I must confess, I've visited many of your galleries while I've been gone and they've helped to cheer me up when I needed it most. But I did not leave any comments as I knew I was unable to respond to you if you sent messages etc. As indicated above, the twin muses of my art and writing have vanished. So I will take it slow and do a few things as I can that suit me- and visit your galleries and comment. But beyond that: I've learned my lesson, no promises, just what each day brings... And I'm very glad to be back in whatever way I can...
Edit: On re-reading the above, I found it to be needlessly mysterious. I've edited the newletter on my homepage if you want a few more details, while sparing the rest of you from boredom...

Even muses must rest from time to time, I am glad yours are stirring once again - I know how lonely it can be without them. Welcome back. The poem and image are haunting and beautiful.

Welcome back! Your beautiful words and image let me know that your muses may have been hiding, but they are still there and strong as ever. Sorry to hear of your problems, but good to know things are getting better for you and your wife. I look forward to your contributions as and when you are up to it - and most of all the return of Aranée!

Well you will see that both Arthur and myself have started up our stories again after a long absence... so if you can find the will to begin again you will not be in the company of strangers and you will know that you have been missed, both as a story teller and a friend.

Glad you are back. I know the feeling. I had to put my mother in a home and I am very depressed over it.

This is a really marvelous still life and expertly rendered. Beautiful play of light and shadow. Indeed it is mysterious and melancholy poem, but I'll check out your homepage as time permits. Sorry for the delay, I really have problems with making time for comments. I often end up spending a few hours on my day off catching up. Though, it is always well worth it.

Keep your pencil and sketchpad in hand all the time. The muses are fickle friends and visit when least you expect it. But, I often find they were there the whole time, shouting in my ear; I just wasn't listening.
