Description
When we were at the beach in the fog the other day, I just happened to turn and see a train going by.
Usually there is sound. You can hear the train coming from a mile away, the sound of the wheels on the track amplified across the water.
On this day, I heard no train. Perhaps the fog muffled its approach. Perhaps it was the Number 8 passing through.
There's no way to tell, of course. A train coming out of the fog might be the local carrying empty containers back to the city, or it could have a single passenger bound for Pekkur, his pockets stuffed with catalpa leaves.
I'll leave it for you (and Chip) to decide.

Some rail lines have been retrofited to make the trains quieter. This is a really cool image though it could scare the hell out of you if it suddenly came up on you through the fog.
It took me a minute to realize what is going on and then the mist cleared and I could see! A great capture Tara.

BNSF got it right...three headlights...not two, not four. Me not getting this shot was a function of the 6D not focusing fast enough. Glad you worked this up...very moody. I love it.

The fact that you only see the one car, the engine, with its three lights (a magical number, of course) means that this must surely be a special express that goes nowhere dull and normal. That's why you didn't hear it, all of its sounds are in another dimension, to be sure. What eerie lighting and fantastic atmosphere you captured here! Wow!
