Sig posted a picture of a plane earlier today, and we're to figure out what it is. See Sig's photograph here.
Fortunately a couple of people had already identified it by the time I got there. I live with a plane nut who has given me the opportunity to learn many things I don't need to know, so I was able to make a connection.
We just saw one last week at the Flying Heritage Collection. :)

Nice capture. I can just see the hinge where the wing folds back like the wings of a dragonfly.
So very complex! Not much flying in the UK at the mo, either mechanical or organic, except for a lot of very hungry birds.
if you hadn't said this was a plane, i don't think i would've known; it has such a wonderfully abstract look. you do these so well, take something so familiar, then shoot it close up so we see just little pieces and parts!!

This is a beautiful capture of the 'Storch' Tara. I love the reflections and the light. I also learned something from you. I didn't know the wings fold back. Three years ago all you probably knew about planes was that they fly (and you didn't care to know more than that) and now you are becoming a figure to recon with when it comes to aircraft. But I am not really surprised having a museum right in your backyard and having Bill there. BTW, I still look at my BMW Z4 in my avatar. I will give you a call when I see you are on renderosity. If you see the new avatar, the one I think you see, I have a tarantula crawling on my forearm. The picture was taken in Cambodia. Later that day I also ate part of a tarantula -its considered a delicacy, as are other spiders, worms, and bugs. The tarantula tasted a little like fried chicken.
Wonderful collection of delicately shaped and completely unknown parts (to me, at least!) And you've softened it so that it's taken on an intimate beauty I'm certain they don't usually have. No wonder the boys like you! LOL!
