Here we have the classic femme fatale of the film noir era. Just who is this woman and what ever has she done? Notes: The first version of this artwork that I created was in, I believe, 2010 then I recreated it in 2011. Now here we have a brand new and much improved version for 2013, my first artwork of 2013. I didn't try to make it or even postwork it exactly as the originals but instead decided to do whatever looks best to me now. I'm glad I did, this is the best ever version of this artwork IMHO. I doubt I'll be redoing this one again but who knows. I just can't seem to let go of a great concept. Technical Notes: I used a combination of IDL plus a projection light for the window silhouette, a specular light, and then a light to cast her shadow on the wall as well. It's a much more simple setup than it sounds, I think. In postwork I gave it the classic noir feel with some color effects, added the blood splatter, greatly increased the contrast, and added the smoke effects. I also added a few grunge and texture overlays to give a "dirty feel". It didn't actually take too long to create once I figured out exactly what it was I wanted to do with this piece.
