Description
Captured 12/11/12, early morning, within treading distance of my dour domicile.
Moisture and water drops due to fog, and the tank, adjacent to a large utility box, contains compressed nitrogen. The tank exterior reminds me of avocado rind. And, I have no idea what the big chromelike shiny device is all about.
Looks most cool and definitive via ZOOM.
Allaismalardik, and have a nice day.

I think it is looking at me. great shot.
That chrome-like shiny device is a pneumatic regulator. Its' function is to reduce the pressure of whats in the tank to a safer and more usable level. I have no idea what the liquid nitrogen is out in the open like that. Cool capture.
What a fine looking capture Harry, great eye to spot this one
Looks impressively dangerous ! Most interesting.
Glad it has that regulator, because otherwise it does appear a bit dangerous.
Very cool shot, Harry; love the foggy condensation on the surface. The regulator is way shinier than the lock holding it to the tank. That one looks almost like an antique! What a great find and capture!!
well I have to stop here---and I just started. But trust me when I say there are many other works calling me here. Yes, a huge avocado; and kudos to your son for knowing about the pneumatic regulator. And I would ask, too, what he did: Ie, what in the world is it all doing on the sidewalk? I've used the world "giddy" about your padlock shots, meaning a kind of visual riot, a visual street festival, with massing of the oddest shapes, light and shadows, shiny versus dull, etc. To me, the wildest of them feel like a street fair held by padlocks for dance, salsa and music. Mind you, I've seen padlocks all over Chicago, but I haven't developed the eye for them that you have; in fact, I don't know anyone else who's captured such riotous mixes of form, movement, collision, etc, that you've captured in this series....The contrast of that regulator---all silvery and water-beaded (you catch these moments well)---with the duller metal on top, and the almost scary 'avacado' on the bottom: More tumultuous composition in this series. And fine clarity on the initials on the padlock itself. A real eye-find with a giddy massing of shapes and clunky thing sitting there doing their business while the city sleeps. This padlock series is a visual party, and it too could become a book. Terrific, Harry. Wild dancing series. I'll be back soon...
