Description
the mist that had settled upon our quaint hamlet during the early hours of 10/30/12.
It is either an anomaly or a sign of climate change because instead of our usual two days of fog a year that we normally have, we have already experienced seven days of fog for 2012, beginning in early January, with possibly more to come. Almost UK weather. I like it because it gives me more opportunity for cool eerie and gothic fog shots.
Cheerio, and have a nice day.

That is very cool, Harry! And very strange, as you say. A mysterious shot.
Nice early morning shot... you sure get up early :)
That looks like pollution to me, but I could be, and often am, wrong! Great pic!
Fantastic capture Harry, love the way it glows
Spooky & Unusual to see a bright sun like that on a foggy day - nicely captured...
very atmospheric capture
I somehow missed this one yesterday. Really a unusual shot. I like that it looks black and white except for that red hydrant in the front.
Climate change, I guess, although I remember a lot of foggy days in my younger years in Long Beach. Maybe it depends on where you are as far as closeness to the beach...at any rate, this is wonderful, Harry; love that light piercing the mist, you caught it perfectly!
Ditto on comment- "very atmospheric capture" !!!
A bit of hope there, breaking through the fog we sent over to you LOL Hope you enjoyed it Harry! Well taken. Rob
Harry, this session will be in two parts, I'll continue after I sleep more. But I wanted to at least start this, this early morning. You really have served fog beautifully. I often speak of your impeccable captures of that golden early light, but gads, what light you have here! It's not just the overall milieu that makes this sing, it's the details within it. The sun is like something trying to call us through ages of mist. And the buildings on the left: Man, I just love the tilt you got, the way they seem to be falling into the shot from fatigue from times-long-gone. It's like an abandoned town, even though it's actually your 'quaint hamlet'. Wonderful transformation into something from a ghost town. I have to tell you, I've done lots of fog shots, but nothing like this. The other side slopes off into emptiness, and the background buildings are so amorphous they seem foreboding. But to top it off, you let-in snippets of color! Whoosh! That red hydrant and pink curb---wonderful! And though there are some cars in the distance (I can't count them through the mists), we really see only one of any definition, and that's the lone one 3/4 of the way down the street. As if Hollywood built this set for you! The perfect moment on film...Harry, this is splendid, and filled with untold stories. A wonderful addition to your already rich log of fog shots. Love it. A story waiting to be written...
