Description
Or at least partially rusted.
Captured 12/7/12 - Pearl Harbor 71st anniversary - early in the morn, within the vast perimeter of the general neighborhood.
Yep, Molly, heh, if it still runs, why get it painted?
The front grille is suspect, but the tires and rims look in great shape.
Farvel, and have a nice day.

I agree the tires and wheels look to have cost more than the truck. Nice find.
I guess it gets them where they are going. Personally, I hate seeing vehicles left to rust. I had a garage built just so my car would not be sitting out in the weather. Those sure are good looking tires and rims.
Great capture of it Harry, and the shame of it all is the body doesn't have any major damage that is visible.
Why not paint her red for Xmas?
I should be quite happy to drive that, but it probably would fail the MOT inspection here.
Good one Mate! Now, Rosy would love this herself (She's very busy at the moment mate, sorry..) But top shot, and I have to admit I could do with something as BIG here sometimes! lol More please, keep your eyes open.. Rob
That one looks to have done some serious miles, hard-working ones. I wonder if it spent time in a climate that had ice and snow, and wasn't properly treated after being exposed to salt and ice-melting chemicals? At any rate, it's not how it looks, it's how it runs that counts, eh? Excellent find and capture, Harry!
This truck is a real workhorse. Americana at its best. Great capture! :-)
lol, andrea, and I agree, American at its best. A great find, but in your output it's what we expect from you. One of the great things about shots like these is that it shows that you find visual power in old warhorses even as you have posted their opposites---ie, the glorious fully-polished gems of antique cars that fill parts of your gallery. You show all sides of the spectrum. This has your usual angle, allowing the front and a whole side to be visible. (I would have to think about that when I shoot cars, but you've been doing these shots a long time, and it shows.) Beautiful for how the rust seems to frame the middle---ie, the back and the front sandwiching the plainer door in between. Good eye. And you elevated it to mid-picture, by allowing a generous amount of street in front of it, which makes it feel more important, almost enthroned. And a fun extra: Because of your unfocussed background (I assume that's a given in shots like these), the trees and antennae in center background look like a big ghost approaching! Another homage to old rusted vehicles, with dignity and the right angle, composition etc. I'll end for now, but like Lynell's old barn shots, your old rusted cars are captures for future generations. You do them proud, Harry.
At least you get to see these old ones, there's few left in the rust belt unless they've been shipped in. Great catch.
