Description
I created this artwork to promote my graphic novel (that's getting closer to being published!) called "Journeys of Shelby Bly". It features the two lead characters, Shelby Bly and Jace Roberts, fighting side by side during an adventure in Egypt. Jace is confident and deadly as he fires his gun. Shelby is understandably frightened and unsure about all this as she attempts to defend herself. She may have heard, time and again, Jace's insistence that it's a "kill or be killed" world but that doesn't make it any easier to accept. It will be a long time before Shelby is comfortable with killing for any reason, if ever.
I'm not sure if I spent enough time on this one. I mean, it's exactly what I had sketched out, it looks good and it shows exactly what I wanted it to show but... there's something off about it and I can't figure out what that is exactly. Have you got any suggestions on how to improve it??

Well, it looks pretty darn good to me, Lizzie.... The only suggestion I might offer is that Jace looks a bit too calm in the facial expression. Possibly a bit more wide-eyed; teeth clenched - a firefight is an extremely stressful situation, and he just looks a little too calm. Shelby's expression is right on - fear and uncertainy is what I see in her face - very fitting. Well done!
