I'm not a big fan of "foliage in front of landscapes" generally (though my wife thinks no landscape looks right unless there's a tree in front of it), but this one is done creatively & the variety of shapes & color tones redeems it for me...

The different range of colours of the same foliage is breathtakingly beautiful - topped off by the mountain-chain, just like an ice-cream Sunday mix... BB
Oh, this is layers upon layers upon layers and they're all in superb balance! The colors are so vivid, but not overpowering, and I love the way foreground and background seem to merge and jiggle around each other: keeping place as they should, but also kinda negotiating at the borders. I love the effect and the way my eye just keeps wandering around this shot.
Dry pine needles I presume? The climb we had up there showed me yet another bit of Washington that I had not experienced before. Nicely done...and a most apropos title:)
