Description
The State of Washington has many dams. Depending on whose list you choose to believe, there are about 44 dams in the state that produce hydroelectricity.
We drove our car right across the top of this dam about 3-4 days ago. It is Diablo Dam and is located on the Skagit River high up in the Cascade Mountains. Its reservoir is known as Diablo Lake and has a most unusual blue-green color. I will show and tell you a little more about the water color in my next upload:)
Bill
P.S. Zoom worthy.

Very cool capture Bill in Fact, it's a dam fine picture
Very nice phot of the Dam. For some reason I keep thinking about My Fair Lady and Professor Higgins saying "Damn, Damn, Damn" before he went into a song.
Dam..... 44 dams! Dam that's a lot of dams! :-P (I can't let Mike have all the dam fun, now can I? :-D) This is a spectacular shot, Bill! Oh, I wanna go there..... :-D
Wonderfully amazing--thanx!
Superb capture my friend. God Bless.
A fantastic view especially with the Cascades as a background. Very zoom worthy!

Well done, Bill, superb composition
That is alot of water and a lot of power.A great shot.
beautiful all encompassing landscape, on a grand scale
WOW....Gorgeous place my friend, spectacular photo, marvelous mood!
Impressive landscape background. Aloha
A beautiful capture of this great view. We have a lot of hydro power too and I love having the lakes.
I have seen quite a few documentaries now, especially the way they have been designed and built by engineers - but always surprised how different each and everyone of them has been structured - love it the way they are completely surrounded by such beautiful pine-trees ... and with a cool POV to boot ;) BB (BTW Richard Hammond from the 'Top Gear' show, explains it so amazingly easy, for everyone to understand - how it was done! ;)
It's been a long time since I've been there. Thanks. Great shot.
I hope you'll post a picture of the other side ... one from the dock ... it's such an amazing comparison! Beautiful photograph, hon. :*
The huge scale always rather scares me, even from here! Super photo.
A beautiful shot and a beautiful landscape.
Beautiful Bill. I've always been fascinated by dams. You and Tara must have had a great time.
Nice photo! I'm guessing the color has a lot to do with limestone silt being washed into the lake.
A really fantastic view and capture, Bill.
I have been there many times it is a truly beautiful region. The dam and Ross Lake are at the very western borders of The North Cascades National Park. Some of my most liked mountains are on the eastern borders of the park. Liberty Bell is a great mountain for taking pic's. Hope you got some of the whole region.
Can't see a dam without thinking of james Bond diving off one in the movies. Awesome sight Bill that can only imaging looks wonderful when you are there.
great shot
It is very cool. Thanks. 5+!
Wow, Bill, what a capture, breathtking!!
wonderful landscape, great pov and view, excellent capture
Great capture and view Hugs Susan~
Awesome view, nicely captured.
why is it, Dam's in the U.S look so beautiful, stunning even whereas, in the UK they tend to look bloody awful! Then flood 1,000's of acres of farmland which the Government THEN complains they have not got enough room to grow food for the population of foreign people that should not be here, and then chop down another forest to make room for a wheat field or two! There! I think thats it lol This shot on the other hand is stunning and you'd barely notice it was there! Rob
