The companion piece to my previous "Gotham City."
Shot looking westwards into Lower Manhattan, the new World Trade Center is seen rising just right of center.
The low rise building at seaside far left is South Street Seaport, Pier 17. It is home to many upscale shops and resteraunts. Quite uppity as I understand.
What is surreal about this shot, aside from the gothic style postwork? All the reddish tinged buildings up front, the ones less than 20 stories... they are all co-op housing. And even the glass building up front and to the left, the one that looks like a typical office tower, it's a co-op housing complex too! The juxtaposition of this kind of housing onto some of the most expensive real estate in the nation.... well that is just surreal. No?

That is and incredibly cool pic. Just sayin'. And yes, the contrast is ... unimaginable. What a great capture you have here.
Wonderful light and reflections as well as great postwork in this awesome capture!!
What is sensational working capture Roxy, you really have outdone yourself on this manipulation. That Gothic style post work is just too cool
Another outstanding pov and information Roxy. Excellent postwork effects. NYC is a city of great contrasts and that is well represented here :)
Imagine being in one of those tall buildings and watching a big wave come - I'll stay in the Mountains, a mile above the sea level. lol
Love this point of view and lighting and color you've captured, and everything really. Beautiful :)
Great work.
Stunning Photo
Cool blue city!! Roxy-sensei
very cool pic Roxy, love the way you present these..
Very cool capture and great postwork interesting discussion regarding the uses of the buildings
Beautiful capture Roxy... I find places like New York very frightening, just the shear number of people boxed into an area like that. Screams "sitting ducks" to me... And think about all the ones you don't see... those who survive under the city and in the alleys and the old warehouses and abandoned factories, or just in small corners of the streets... rats in the maze. sorry for the rant, love the post work my friend.
Very nice work. Well done.
Wonderful shot and effects!
WOW! Looks INCREDIBLE!! Great job on this...
I haven't been back to NYC for fifteen years, but few cities in the world can offer so much variety of lifestyles and people's idiosyncrasies ...Another illustration of your creative and skillful postwork on these fabulous skyscrapers. Excellent work!
