Description
Long distance shots, captured 6/6/12, from the bike lane which runs adjacent to the semi beautiful San Gabriel River in beautiful Long Beach, California.
Don't forget to ZOOM.
In my eternal quest for power towers to photograph, I unexpectedly came across the exhilarating sight of this equine in one of the corrals of the Lakewood Equestrian Center, right across the street from the Walmart parking lot.
Normally, the horses at the Equestrian Center are given a workout of sorts by a human leading them around in a circle with a tether, but this noble stallion was doing it all by itself, just cavorting, romping, neighing, snorting, and having a grand old time of it all working up a sweat.
I had a challenging time just keeping this magnificent steed in my viewfinder. Considering I'm not too good at action shots, I believe these pics came out well enough to post.
Sayonara, thanks for popping in, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Sensational work on this cool collage Harry, the clarity of the captures here is first rate.
Most interesting! I hope all this activity is caused by boredom!
durleybeachbum: you're right again!
Nice action shots, Harry! I nice looking guy he is too. I would say by the way his nostrils are flaring he IS getting a good work out all by himself. The position of his ears in the last 3 shots tells me he is not particularly happy to be in this arena all alone. If he could find an opening in the fence I'm pretty sure he would bolt! That is just my opinion based on my horse raisin' days of eons ago. Such a pretty boy he is.
I like all 5 shots in this beautiful action collage but especially the Bay Chestnut in the back of #3.
Me too. That horse in the background is gorgeous. Very nice action captures of the high spirited horse, though.
Wow, what a great find and series of shots, Harry! Yes, he seems to me to be looking for a way out of his confinement, as if he wishes he were out in a huge field somewhere where he could run run run. Great work here!
Ditto to the comments from DanaPommet, Nice shots DaD!!!
That is one spirited equine for sure wow!
Great shots, I think he would love to be doing that in a green meadow:o) The horse in the background looks in superb nick!!
