Description
Captured 6/13/12, early morning, about a block from my phantasmagorical place.
Positively ZOOM worthy.
The only prickly poppy bush I've come across in all of my photo excursions around Southern California, and it's virtually next door. Although a huge bush, it offers just a few blooms at a time, so I have to take advantage when I can.
Being overcast that AM, extensive postwork was performed to bring out the contrast, definition and texture on these guys.
Fotos 1 and 2 display a style ovary bordering on the pornographic. Right, BB?
Arrivederci, thankx for the look-see, and for any and all favs and noncritical comments.

Unusual and beautiful flowers.
Having never seen one of these Harry, all 4 photos are amazing but the side POV on #3 is spectacular! Wonderful collage my friend!
Fantastic photo of this lovely poppy Harry
Lovely images
Excellent shots. I much prefer no sunshine for my flower shots, and often stand so my shadow covers the bloom.
The last two looks like Angels... Aloha
What a gorgeous flower, and you've given us a spectacular assortment of views to better appreciate all its charms. Excellent captures and postwork, Harry!
oh, it's quite an array harry, and yes, the first two shots do look a little like soft porn, lol, and I won't get into why. But you've shown the poppy in a most unusual series, partly because of the 'fabric' look of the petals, and partly because of your several views of that wholly extraordinary stamen area. I've never seen this variety in my life (I think I'd have remembered), so it's almost like seeing your car montages---it's totally new to me. As for your postwork, if you wrested this from the oblivion of overcast skies, you did a fine job again of bringing forth the clarity and saturation of this beauty's hues. Not having studied flowers as so many of your fans have, this one's a revelation to me; and I love the clarity and angles of your shots. And, with Dana, #3 really is an eye-popper. Like it's bowing for the camera. Wonderful montage.
A prickly Poppy huh? Never heard of one of those before but its quite a beauty and you've caught some fine shots here Harry! Really well done.. Excellent collage. Rob
