Description
On my way home from work today, I chanced upon this poor fellow. he apparently collided with an auto and managed to make it to the sidewalk.
I much rather prefer to take their photos while in flight or perched on a flower. but I felt he needed some remembrance. may his heaven be filled with necter-filled flowers and willing females.

Mike, awesome friggin' sentiment! I love the way you think! But I hate when this happens. My building is on the highway so I find them too. Sucks. It usually takes me about twice as long to cut the grass as it should because I give the crickets, grasshoppers, and moths the right of way. LOL! It's true. I caught a big ass black snake the other day too about six feet long. I let him go. He'll eat a ton of rodents this Summer and they're not poisonous.
Bye bye,Butterfly.I have been seeing lots of these swallowtails, lately. The ones that I have seen are in better shape.Good shot.
Awwww. Poor squishy fellow. }"{
Wonderful capture Mike. Touching memorial for this fellow.
awww, he was so beautiful.
Mike, beautiful feelings! She was beautiful. I hope she has not suffered too much.
beautiful but sad..it happened once I found a dragonfly that collided with an auto and i picked it up and took it with me home and played with it for a while then I put alcohol on it and killed becaue he was not able to fly anymore and was most likely will die anyways, but I kept it dried in an egg carton for a few years as display....maybe that is why I like dragonflies in my renders :)
I always feel bad when I find a dead butterfly on my grille.
crow food now, poor thing.
Poor little one. I also feel sad when I find a dead or dying one.
A sad ending to such a beautiful creature! Good photo and sentiments, Mike!
Very sad..poor guy!!
A real shame, as this fellow looks quite striking in his Zebra PJ's... R.I.P. ~Cheers~
Sob This is too sad for me.
At lest he went out as he lived lovely
I'd be pressing him in between pages of a book about now....but that's just how i roll Mike.....lol...your sentiments where very moving and touching and I'm sure this flutterby is happy that someone like yourself felt compelled to offer such a moving final gesture..Damn near brought a tear to my eye....rofl...
Very nice photo Mike, and I agree with your thoughts on the matter
Very sad Mike....excellent capture and touching tribute!
yep rip flying bro.
Sad state of affairs here the poor thing..
A lovely tribute!
Nice colours...but too late :)
I just left shroom-bobs or magic shrooms.... I can't think staight right now, my mind is free of drugs or alcohol and has been for years, it's just I just left Bob's gallery and saw Susan's avatar since hearing of her bad news - my mind went blank and right before bob's gallery I was comforting a friend who's wife has cheated on him... then I come here and see the title and the butterfly... I feel the same way you do, I would of posted it too mike, but the timeing...it's sad... maybe too sad at this point to post, if you know what I mean.... sometimes our imaginations get the best of us and sometimes we don't see something that could be so obvious.
Would of had beautiful children, ah well!
Poor thing
A little less beauty to wonder at I guess, nice sentiment Mike...
I hate seeing road kill, sad!!
A compelling title Mike - i wondered what we were going to get on opening this one. Excellent sentiment and perspective. I like what you do!!
Oops poor little thing but still a beauty in it's lifetime here.
