Description
White beauty
It is a mystery
how you grow
so voluptuous
in the moon's glow
rising like a soft mist
your perfume
an intoxicating kiss
I cannot believe
how seductively
you bring me
into your
Poppy Dreams.

Just beautiful Carol!
Wish we had some white ones to go with our. Beautiful! I love poppies from the greens through the little wooden heads.
Sensational work on this beautiful and inspirational image Carol, can't get over just how talented you are my friend.
Outstanding work. God Bless.
A beautifully crafted work of art!
A real 'turn' for me, because most of my experience with poppies in art has been the saturated red variety, where, no matter how much variety there is in each flower, the artists either treated them as bright red dots or---ala Georgia O'Keeffe---as cosmic red super-novas. Your poppies have the saturated whites I've known in poppies, but you've given them spectacular stamen areas: The centers are undulant and almost like dark flames. Or like arms that reach out from the flower. Even the right-most poppy, you've made purple and red flames, right on the outer surfaces. And the petals, themselves, are articulated with long pleated lines...really powerful. And your background takes its cue from those lines: It's aflame too; but it's also like tons of underwater sea-growth, undulating upwards towards the sun. And at bottom, the fundament again, a place of deep reflection, like a gestational place from which all your life springs. Then you move to bright light at top...Your composition is free, a giddy portrait collection of very independent flowers (to my eye), but the underlying thing I feel in all this is passion, seeking light, flame, and a cosmos set aflame by its own flowers. Beautiful work, Carol, and if I ever see some of these rare white poppies, I'll be sure to wear sunglasses, lol: In your hands, they're atomic and powerful beauties.
