Description

OK. So there are alot more than 3! At last count, I had 41. There are at least 18 here. I went out this morning to feed and they had all piled up together to sleep. There are safety in numbers. Remember as a child when we had to check out new places? Funny how we did not mind sisters and brothers tagging along when we explored the "unknown dangers". Anyway, I am so busy that I have not enough time to take many pictures. I just wanted you to see why!

Oh, my! How cute! I can count to 14 little ones, but I'll take your word for it that there are 18! With all your little "children" I well understand why you have so little time to photograph them! And 41 at last count? How do you feed them, and with what? That's a big restaurant job! Safety in numbers, yep! But was it a cold night? I see some have been busy pulling down the net! Another thing I find interesting is the coloring of their fur - different shades of grey and of brown. Not to forget the individual patterning on their faces. Have you given them all names? Do they recognize their names when you call? With so many, you could open a pet shop, but, they should be returned to the wild. I know they make fun, frisky and pesky pets, always getting into something! And these young ones are, after breakfast, due to be in "bug class" or "puff and growl at bad things class" (I love your descriptions). Thanks for posting. We get to see what's going on and how your little ones are faring. I'll be getting 2 (hopefully, male) rats in mid-August (the mom rat is expecting by early July). I can hardly wait! I've seen both mom and dad in the little store that selectively breeds them - they look nice. But, with the laws of genetics, the young can look quite different from the parents. I'm preparing for them already now. When I get them, I'll try getting a good photo to post for you to see. I'm so glad you were able to post this. Keep up the good work! :-)

What a truly wonderful group you have to take care of!! They look a bit apprehensive, but I'm sure you put them at ease...that is a LOT of raccoons!! Working with them are you able to tell the difference? Unless I look REALLY closely they all look the same...but then I am not used to raccoons, but parrots...and visiting the caique breeder it was easy to tell the difference by their actions. Thank you for taking care of those who are helpless!!! They truly deserve a chance!!!!!

After seeing your comment on the previous posting about the masks I took a closer look at these little cuties and I can see the differences. when you told me that you had 7 raccoons wintering over, I thought you must have your hands full! After seeing this picture, 7 raccoons would be a walk in the park... wonderful capture
