...this rose isn't perfect but that added a bit of charcater to it for me.
...taken a year or two ago in Seattle's Woodland Park Rose Garden.

yes, the flower isn't perfect, but that gives it character, as you say. We need to see flowers with some blemish, because the classic beautiful image isn't the only way flowers exist on earth, by any means. You got the bright light portions of the petals, around which the red acts as a border (a protective fence). And the curls opening up are simple and beautiful. (Those red-pinks are striking hues.) A simple flower capture that's got character and a slightly ruffled quality., and a fine dedi for Bridgette too. Happy birthday Bridgette!
