Description
Here you see a bud of Nigella damascena (love-in-a-mist)
In Dutch called: "Juffertje in het groen".
The flowers of it are beautifully detailed and a true joy to make many pictures of.
The seed pods I really like too.
But here the bud, and I make you aware of Jeff's (aka jayfar)
'today upload' of the flower, as he is in bloom.
Thank you very much for your lovely comments on my earlier upload.
Zoom makes it more detailed and brighter.

Splemdid capture and photo , dear Mies !Great composition !
It is a very wild looking plant in both stages. :D Superb capture!
Yes, we call this "jomfru i det grønne" "Virgin in the green" Beautiful shot of this bud, Jacomina :) "Juffertje in het groen" made me think about this flower and it was right. ;)
Such an amazing looking flower. Wonderfully done Mies.
Fantastic plant and capture, Mies!!!
This is very beautiful Jacomina and an instant fav.
beautiful
This is the most dynamic flower I ever grew in my garden. I was given seeds purchases from Thomas Jefferson's home - my baby sister always thinks of me when she goes to visit historic gardens. I was able to grow them for 2 years and then they never returned after that and I have not found suitable seeds for more. You are right, the foliage is delicate and dreamy, and the flowers so lovely, but the seed pods are startling and when dried look marvelous in a winter floral arrangement in the home. Outstanding shot.
very delicate
Just perfect lighting!

OUTSTANDING IMAGE!
This is a very interesting plant and one that I am not familiar with. I will go look at Jeff's image to see the bloom. You have such an interesting garden of flowers.
